Interesting Facts
Our vision for the Far North is to waste nothing of value or use. The amount of waste generated in the Far North is kept to a minimum, and maximum value is realised from our renewable resources. Our refuse and recycling services contribute, by providing the facilities and opportunities to enable communities in the district to dispose of their waste so as to minimise the harmful environmental effects and maximise recycling.
Council is involved in refuse and recycling because the effective management of refuse and recycling is necessary to protect public health and the environment.
